poem
my lungs cannot handle
all of this fresh air.
the newness of the situation
does not register within
my brain and my heart
is lost in the sea of voices.
experiments with meditation (14)
I am too easily bored
to ever become devout.
my mind races, searches
among the eons, collecting
the breath of each generation,
recycling through my body,
turning the beautiful energy
into some cosmic mindscape.
and it is in this world,
this world of allowance,
that the subdued light
of being can be seen
in its total, vibrant magnificence.
experiments with mediation (13)
with my eyes closed
the world sits still
letting my heart adventure
out of my body
and into the heavens.
the gods remain silent
leading me to secrets
spelling out the truth.
meaningless words (64)
I wanna taste your pain
upon my lips, letting
it drip slow, savoring
the warmth and basking
in the pure darkness.
I wanna break you into
a million, stained pieces,
piecing together the new
you from old parts, replacing
the hurt with some kind of love
stuck
no words
even willed
will come.
stoned brain
sit still
on edge
for hope
of reconciliation
and chance
to progress
with life.
meaningless words (63)
worry weighs long
as my eyes
begin to close.
surviving the wild
a constant burden.
life I want
almost at hand
but the worry
sits quietly stirring
as a cauldron
coming to boil
slowly each day.
experiments with meditation (12)
the falling star
is beautifully rare,
hiding in light
burning at night
catching my eye
filling my heart
giving slight hope
that the world
is better than
it may seem.
poem
the unknown
is creeping,
sneaking around
and waiting
for you
to slip
or sleep
at night
and then
it’ll come
and tears
will follow
and death
after that
love (12)
beautiful devil
shake shake
those hips
are cleavers
they cut
this heart
to shreds
leaving me
wanting more.
meaningless words (61)
humidity is a killer,
they don’t tell you that.
they worry about
cigarettes and sugar,
but not what is in
your own backyard.
mother nature is a bitch,
she wants us all dead.
watch your back,
the humidity is creeping.
