I found
the devil
one night
a bar
outside town
four drunks
and me
and him
he stared
without discretion
I paid
and left
in moonlight
the shadows
were two
and as
I reached
my bucket
a hand
on arm
lips pressed
to ear
and words
evil words
were whispered
‘darkness holds
as much
as light
but without
the burden
of morality’
and shaking
I found
myself alone
