the song of myself

leave a comment »

I feel very dark, very black.
And in my darkness I can
see ivory eyes in the distance,
calling with the longing
of an immediate god.
And in my blackness I can
hear the death of curiosity
at the hands of needless gossip.
And in myself I fear that
I’m being overtaken by
a man of insecurities;
a weaker, cleaner me.
